About us

The Maha Sabha and its Youth Wing

A community of traders, builders and givers — rooted in faith, family and service, organised in every district of Tamil Nadu.

Our community

Trade, faith and giving back

The Arya Vysyas are a community with a long tradition of trade and enterprise. In towns across Tamil Nadu, Arya Vysya families have run businesses for generations — and have been known just as much for what they gave back: choultries for travellers and weddings, temple mandapams, schools and annadhanam for the needy.

The community reveres Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari as its kula devata; her story of courage and sacrifice at Penugonda is told in every Arya Vysya home, and festivals such as Vasavi Jayanthi bring families together each year. Wherever we live, the same values hold us together: honesty in business, devotion, respect for elders, and a duty to help others.

The parent body

Tamil Nadu Arya Vysya Maha Sabha (TNAVMS)

The Maha Sabha is the state-level apex body of the Arya Vysya community in Tamil Nadu. It brings together district and town sangams, speaks for the community, and guides its wings and affiliated bodies.

Its head table — the State President, Secretary and Treasurer — leads the Sabha, and its youth division (the Youth Wing) and women's wing (the Mahila Vibhag) carry its work to young people and women in every district. The Maha Sabha owns this website; its leaders and its Youth Wing's leaders keep it up to date together.

Youth division

TNAVMS Youth Wing (TNAVMSYW)

The Tamil Nadu Arya Vysya Maha Sabha Youth Wing is the official youth division of the Maha Sabha — a dynamic, service-oriented group of young people united by a shared identity, cultural heritage and a passion for community upliftment.

TNAVMSYW is a bridge between tradition and modernity: it encourages youth participation, leadership and social responsibility across all districts of Tamil Nadu. Working under the guidance of the Maha Sabha's senior leaders, it runs blood donation camps, annadhanam, education support, leadership workshops and cultural events — and it builds and runs the community's digital platform, including this website, the eCensus and Vysya Pelli.

How we are organised

Both bodies work at state, district and local level, so that every programme can reach every family.

  • State head tables

The President, Secretary and Treasurer of each body, with their state executive committees, set direction and run state projects.

  • District committees

District office bearers welcome members, approve eCensus registrations and run local programmes.

  • Towns and sangams

Town units and local sangams carry programmes to every street and family.

Women’s wing

Mahila Vibhag

The Mahila Vibhag is the women's wing of the Maha Sabha. It brings the women of the community together — for culture and festivals, for welfare and health initiatives, for education, and for skills that help women stand on their own. Its members are the backbone of many community events and service programmes, from Navaratri celebrations to health camps.

Service clubs

Vasavi & Vanitha Clubs

Vasavi Clubs and Vanitha Clubs (the women's clubs) are service clubs of the community, organised in districts and regions. Club members run health camps, support schools and the elderly, and respond when their towns need help — carrying the community's tradition of charity into everyday action. Clubs are welcome to share their programmes on this website.

Places of faith and gathering

Temples, trusts and choultries

Across Tamil Nadu, Sri Kanyaka Parameswari temples and community choultries and kalyana mandapams are maintained by trusts on behalf of the community. They host daily worship, festivals, weddings and annadhanam — and they are where many families first meet.

Temple and trust committees are welcome to list their details, timings and events on tnvysya.com — write to us.
