Delete your Vysya Pelli account and data

Last updated 3 October 2026

In short

Vysya Pelli uses your TNAVMSYW eCensus account. You can ask us to delete that account and its data from the app, from the website, or by email without signing in — or delete only your jadhagam and keep your membership.

One account for Vysya Pelli and eCensus

Vysya Pelli — the Android app (com.tnvysya.pelli) and pelli.tnvysya.com — is run by the Tamil Nadu Arya Vysya Maha Sabha Youth Wing (TNAVMSYW). It has no separate sign-up: you sign in with your TNAVMSYW eCensus account (eCensus ID, email or mobile number, and password), the same account used on tnvysya.com and ecensus.tnvysya.com. A request to delete your account therefore covers your eCensus membership account and your Vysya Pelli data.

If you only want to stop using Vysya Pelli and keep your eCensus membership, delete just your jadhagam instead — see Delete only your jadhagam below.

Option 1 — In the Vysya Pelli app

  1. Open Vysya Pelli and sign in.
  2. Tap the Me tab.
  3. Under Privacy & data, tap Delete my data.
  4. Add a reason if you wish, type DELETE to confirm, tap Request deletion and confirm.

Option 2 — On the website

  1. Sign in at tnvysya.com with the same eCensus ID, email or mobile number and password.
  2. Open your account page and go to the Privacy & your data section.
  3. Under Your data, choose Delete my data, then Yes, request deletion.

Option 3 — Without signing in, by email

If you cannot sign in (for example, you have uninstalled the app or cannot reset your password), email [email protected] with the subject Delete my account. Send it from the email address registered on your account; if no email is registered, write from any address and give your registered mobile number. Please include:

  • your full name, as registered;
  • your registered mobile number and/or email address;
  • your eCensus ID, if you know it;
  • if you wish, the reason you are leaving.

To protect members, the team first checks that the request really comes from the account holder — we may contact you on your registered mobile number or email to confirm — and only then deletes the account. Email requests are then handled in the same way as requests made in the app.

What happens after you ask

  • Your request is recorded and handled by an administrator of the TNAVMSYW eCensus team. An administrator may contact you before your data is removed.
  • Requests are ordinarily completed within 30 days.
  • Only one deletion request can be open at a time; if you ask again, you are told that it is already in progress.
  • Once completed, the deletion cannot be undone.

What is deleted

  • Your account and sign-in — you can no longer sign in to Vysya Pelli, tnvysya.com or any other eCensus service, on any device.
  • Your eCensus record — your personal, family, contact and address details and your photo are removed or anonymised.
  • Your Vysya Pelli data — your jadhagam (matrimony) profiles with their details, photos, horoscope charts, partner preferences and contact details, and the interests you have sent and received, are removed or anonymised.

What we keep, and why

  • Consent records and audit logs — which policy versions you accepted and when, and the log of actions on your account (including your deletion request and how it was handled). We keep these, in anonymised form where possible, for as long as the law requires us to be able to show that consent was obtained and that requests were handled.
  • A minimal record of a deleted jadhagam — its profile code, status and dates, with every personal detail removed. Other members who had contact with it see it only as "Deleted profile".
  • Security logs — standard server logs (IP address, browser type and timestamps), kept for security and abuse prevention.
  • Backups — copies in our routine database backups are removed as those backups expire.
  • Anything the law requires us to keep — for example while a complaint or legal process is open — only for as long as required.

We cannot recall details that other families already received before you deleted — for example contact details shared after you accepted an interest.

Delete only your jadhagam (keep your eCensus account)

You can delete a jadhagam (matrimony) profile yourself at any time without deleting your account:

  • In the app: Me tab → Jadhagam → My jadhagam → Delete jadhagam.
  • On the website: sign in at pelli.tnvysya.com, open My profiles, choose Delete on the profile, then Yes, delete.

A deleted jadhagam is hidden from everyone at once, and pending interests to and from it are closed. You can restore it within 15 days. After that, its details, photos, horoscope charts, partner preferences and contact details are permanently removed automatically, leaving only the minimal record described above. A jadhagam marked Married, or one suspended by the moderators, cannot be deleted from the app or website — email us instead.
