In short
Vysya Pelli is for adults seeking marriage. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Report any concern from the profile ("Report" → "Child safety concern / under 18") or by email — the profile is hidden at once and reviewed first.
Our commitment
Vysya Pelli — the Android app (com.tnvysya.pelli) and pelli.tnvysya.com — is the Jadhagam (matrimony) service of the Tamil Nadu Arya Vysya Maha Sabha Youth Wing (TNAVMSYW). We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
It is forbidden to use Vysya Pelli to:
- create or manage a profile for anyone below the legal marriage age;
- share, request or link to any sexual content involving a child;
- groom, contact, solicit or exploit a child in any way, or arrange a child marriage.
Any such content or behaviour leads to immediate removal of the profile, suspension of the account and a report to the authorities.
Vysya Pelli is for adults only
Vysya Pelli is for adults who are seeking marriage. A profile (jadhagam) is allowed only for a bride aged 18 or over or a groom aged 21 or over — the legal marriage age in India.
- Age comes from eCensus, not from the profile. Every profile belongs to a person on the community's eCensus register. Their date of birth is taken from that eCensus record and cannot be typed into the jadhagam. The age is checked when the profile is created and again when it is submitted; an under-age person cannot be chosen.
- Only approved members. Only approved eCensus members can use Vysya Pelli. A parent or relative creating a profile for a family member must be 18 or over and in the same eCensus family.
- Every jadhagam is checked before it is published. The Jadhagam team reviews each profile against a checklist — including that the name, gender and date of birth are plausible and meet the legal age — before anyone else can see it.
- Only members with a published profile can browse other profiles; profiles are not open to the public.
Photos and content are reviewed
- The photos, horoscope and text of every new jadhagam are checked by the Jadhagam team before it is published: photos must be real, recent and decent, and the text must have no contact details, links or abuse.
- New photos or horoscope charts added to a live profile stay hidden until the team approves them.
- There is no open chat between strangers. Members send an interest (with an optional short note); a family's contact details are shown only after that interest is accepted.
How to report a child safety concern
If you think a profile belongs to someone under 18 (or under the legal marriage age), or you see anything that sexualises or exploits a child:
- In the Vysya Pelli app: open the profile, tap the ⋮ menu → Report profile → choose Child safety concern / under 18, add any details and send.
- On the website: open the profile on pelli.tnvysya.com, choose Report → Child safety concern / under 18 → Send report.
- By email (no sign-in needed): write to [email protected] with the subject Child safety. Include the profile code (for example VP-000123) if you know it and what you saw. Anyone — member or not — can report this way.
Reports are confidential: the reported member is not told who reported them.
If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 112 (or Childline on 1098). You can also report child sexual abuse material directly to the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in or on the helpline 1930.
What we do when a concern is reported
- Hidden at once. A profile reported as a child safety concern is hidden from all members immediately, pending review — without waiting for other reports.
- Reviewed first. The Jadhagam team is alerted, and child safety reports are shown at the top of the team's review queue.
- Action. Where the concern is confirmed, the profile is removed from Vysya Pelli and suspended so that it cannot be edited, renewed or submitted again, and the account behind it can be suspended.
- Evidence preserved. We keep the profile record, the reports and our audit logs, and do not delete them while a case may be needed by the authorities.
- Reported to the authorities. Confirmed child sexual abuse or exploitation, and any CSAM, is reported to the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in / 1930) and to the police, as required under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
- Cooperation. We cooperate with law enforcement agencies and respond to their lawful requests.
If a report turns out to be mistaken, the reports are dismissed, the profile is restored and the member is told.
